Step 1: Prepare Your Trezor Device
Verify the packaging is sealed and intact to ensure your device is authentic and tamper-free. Inside you'll find your Trezor wallet and USB cable for connection.
Never use devices from untrusted sources. If you see damage or suspicious seals, contact official support.
Step 2: Download & Install Trezor Suite
Go to trezor.io/start and download the Trezor Suite for your OS (Windows/macOS/Linux). Installation is straightforward, with on-screen instructions guiding you.
The Suite enables secure communication with the device and lets you manage your crypto assets safely.
Step 3: Connect and Initialize
Plug your Trezor device into your computer via USB. Launch Trezor Suite which will detect your hardware wallet.
Follow prompts to install the latest firmware. Firmware ensures your device is up to date with security patches and features.
Step 4: Create or Recover Wallet
Create a new wallet if it’s your first time. Trezor Suite generates a unique 24-word recovery phrase—write it down and store it securely offline. This phrase restores your wallet if device is lost.
If restoring from an existing seed, select "Recover Wallet" and enter your 24 words carefully.
Step 5: Set Up PIN Protection
Set a custom PIN for your Trezor device to prevent unauthorized access. Use the randomized keypad on your computer, confirming the PIN twice to ensure accuracy.
Step 6: Manage Your Cryptocurrencies
Add your favorite cryptocurrencies to the Suite dashboard. Send, receive, and track assets with real-time balance updates.
- View transaction history and account details.
- Send payments securely with transaction confirmation on your device.
- Use coin control features to optimize transactions.
Step 7: Keep Your Assets Secure
Always keep your recovery seed offline and never share it digitally. Regularly update your device firmware and Suite for security improvements.
Be vigilant against phishing attempts and only use official software and websites.
